Two upper-level disturbances attempt to bring needed rain to our area, including one today and tonight, and then another one late this week into the weekend At the same time, heat and humidity are on the rebound with an increase in uncomfortable humidity today and a rise in temperatures tomorrow. The first August weekend is looking characteristically hot and humid with scattered storm chances, especially on Saturday.

Today (Tuesday): Clouds try to hold the heat back today, but humidity is on the rise with uncomfortable dew points in the low to mid-70s, while highs reach the mid-upper 80s to around 90. Scattered showers and thunderstorms should move into the area late in the afternoon or into the evening. Some of the storms could be severe, but not everyone may see them.
